A Pharmacist is responsible for maintaining the established departmental policies, procedures and objectives to ensure the pharmacy fulfils its role. Hospital Pharmacists can be assigned to work in the Outpatient Pharmacy, In-Patient Pharmacy or Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute Pharmacy. All Pharmacists participate in shift rotation, including weekends, public holidays and on-call. Pharmacists participate in a variety of continuing education sessions and are a part of the Multidisciplinary team for patient care. Pharmacists interact with nurses, doctors and other health professionals on a regular basis ensuring patients receive the most appropriate medicines in the most effective way.
