What does a Food Services Aide do?
A Food Services Aide works under the general supervision of the Food
Services Supervisor. Prepares and serves milk, cream, juices, bread
and butter in an efficient, attractive manner. Practices a high standard
of sanitation and safety as set out in the Policies and Procedures
manual.
What qualifications and experience does the hospital require?
- High School Graduate.
- Formal training such as ‘Clean Kitchens’ program or
equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of sanitary standards of food service.
- Must be able to read and write and follow oral and written instructions.
- Previous experience in kitchen and team oriented work, preferable
but not essential.
- A preference for working with the public and as part of a team.
- Adaptability to perform routine, repetitive tasks of preparing
and portioning food as well as cleaning the same equipment and facilities
under specific instructions.
